Skitter - Breakdown

This build started two years ago when I was building  speeder bike for Lego Speeder Bike Contest 2019. I came up with this design, but I moved on to something completely different.

I finished it in march this year and I thought I'd share a breakdown of how it's built.

And here is the final result:

Ronin - Breakdown

Feet

This is how the feet are built.

This is how they are attached to the leg. This is probably the weekest connection in the build.

Legs

Here are all the parts for the lower leg. Complete assembly to the right.

Here is the outside of upper legs.

Hips

Here you can se the inside of the legs and part of the hips. The groin covers needs to be removed if you plan to bend the legs at the hips.

The hip section from above.

Same section from below.

Torso

The 2x3 is just there to keep the shoulder joints in a fixed position.

Those are lipsticks.

This is how the head is connected.

Head

I just folded the ribbons and fixed them with the hairpiece.

Curl up the swimsuit and let the connector pin stick out from one of the leg holes.

Arms

Here you see where to connect the arms.

The three arm sections.

I use a 2x2 round tile with hole because I want to use the hole as a connection point for weapons.

There is a neck bracket in the katana to connect it to the hand.

Weapons

I used two 1x5 Modulex tiles here.

Please feel free to ask me anything about this build in the comments below.

Ronin - Build Log

Phew! Finally. This has taken more than a year to build. But I think I've reached a point where I need to call it done.

I love the Galidor Allegra head. I think it's one of the most detailed large figure heads LEGO has ever produced. I used it in one of my first MOCs, but ever since that I have been toying with the idea of using it again.

December 2019

This is how it starts. I dig through my bin with Bionicle and Hero Factory parts until I find something that looks interesting.

Maybe it should be white? Nah, i need to use more color!

February 2020

Adding some blue. Well, it looks ok. But not awesome.

I really dig these shoes though.

No, it's not working. It doesn't look cool. What's wrong!?

Oktober 2020

Several months have passed. I return to this now and decide the legs I built before were just too big. Did a complete redesign of the legs. I also decided to go for darker colors. Gun metal, black and red.

November 2020

I found a scala swimsuit that I used as a scarf and ribbons for the hair. I have also added some more red details. I think she needs some kind of weapon.

Wouldn't it be cool if she rode the bike? I think the bike sadly is a bit too small for her. I had a plan at this moment to build a street scene, complete with buildings and pavement, but I realised after a while that it would take another year just to build that. So I skipped it.
