Inspiration
In the beginning of 2021, I was starting to think about designing a new Star Wars ship. I really enjoyed building and designing the Nadir and I wanted to do something similar again.
Designers like TechNouveau and EC Henry inspired me to start sketching. Also this piece of art was very inspiring: (unknown artist)
Here is my first sketch:
As you can see, the left one is basically just a copy of the artwork above. After some pondering, I did another sketch and that is the right one. The inspiration comes from looking at images of the B-Wing and the Outrider. So it's sort of a mix of those two.
Digital design
The next step was to start building the model digitally, in Studio. I mostly do that to figure out what size the model will be and what parts I will need to order. I need to see if it's even possible to build the ship I have in my mind.

My plan from the start was of course to make it at least 100 studs wide and build it for SHIPtember 2021. But that didn't happen. It just seemed like too big a task to build this beast. I revisited the digital build several time during the following years and added some details.
Space Jam 2023!
And then, Space Jam returned in 2023 and one of the categories seemed to fit this ship. "Build a spaceship that can fit 4 minifigures". That gave me a goal for the final MOC and also some restrictions (deadline) that I sometimes need to finish a MOC.
I still hadn't decided what the cockpit should look like. And, I also needed something to put in the other end of the ship. My first thought was to build a giant gun, but it just seemed too obvious (and too much like the B-Wing), so after some sketching I decided to build a pair of "fins" or "S-foils"
I've been building the ship during December and January. Being sick, and forced to stay at home during the holidays helped. I don't have any WIP photos. It was quite hectic. Here is the final result!
