SHIPtember 2019 - Build log

Real life caught up with me this year. Both family and work took a lot of time. I wasn't sure this SHIP would work until the last days. I didn't take many WIP-shots this year sadly. But here are some:

These are my first experimentations with angles

Really pleased with the angle here. I built a structure with ball joints and then secured the structure with technic parts. After this I built a stand for the SHIP and measured the height.

Filling the gap

I experimented with slopes and panels to find a shape that fitted the gap. Below you can see my first attempt at a cockpit. But it just didn't work until I built it in white.

I wasn't sure about the cannon. Here you can see what it looked like just a few days before the final photo-session. Too big!

Outpost 43 - Build log

This started with me experimenting with parts. I wanted to build a triangular spaceship, but it didn't take long before it looked better as a microscale building.

Adding some more details. Also, I wanted to try using the Barraki Bionicle Canister so I've started building a crack in an ice sheet.

Pretty much done now. But after showing this to some people they suggested I ad a brick built background.

B-07 Melee Mech - Build log

The premise of a boxing robot seemed a bit silly to me at first, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. My first thought was building some large fists.

These parts just seem to fit together. I'm just experimenting at this point. White and blue seems ok though.

I came up with the idea of this head many years ago but I haven't used it. About time. Hmm... this looks lame. 

This looks better.

This took me about two hours.

Replaced the first fist with this. I have two K-2SO heads and I wanted to use them for something.

I quickly built this just to get the right proportions. I had decided on a pose so I'm just trying to get the right feel here.

Adding some detail to the legs.

A707 Skyripper - Build log

Hi!

This is my first attempt at a build log. Please tell me what you like/don't like.

April 4

These three images were my first inspiration.

April 5

First attempts. Kinda happy with the third image, but don't know how to go on from there.

April 8

Trying other things. This is when I first found the motorcycle part and turned it upside down. 

Chaos. Don't know where to go from here. Need to sleep on it.

April 9

I very quickly found the shape I liked when I combined the HF Visor with the motorcycle part. At this point I have ditched the inspiration artwork and just let the parts inspire me.

Ok, now I need a display.

Still not happy, trying something else.

April 26 - friday

Waken by my alarm at 5. Built this.

April 30 - Sunday

All done! Now photography!
